Star in our next musical!

Audition in the Summer, start rehearsing in the Fall, & hit the stage in the Spring!
For students in grades 4-12. All experience levels welcome.

  • New musical Students

    Students who have not been part of one of our previous musical productions, are asked to attend an audition workshop in the summer. We make the audition process fun and stress-free! Come see what the musical program is all about + take part in a FREE musical theatre class!

  • Returning musical Students

    Students who are returning to the Innovative musical production program can register right away - no audition necessary! Auditions for roles in the show will take place during the first few weeks of rehearsals and casting will be announced in October!

  • schedule & Structure

    Students rehearse once a week for 3.5 hours on a night that works for them: Wednesdays OR Thursdays, from September-May. Small casts of 15-20 students will rehearse simultaneously, but will each perform their OWN show!

  • Tuition

    9 monthly payments of $295 + HST. The first payment is made upon registration. Remaining payments are processed September 1 - April 1.

    There is no cost to audition for the program.

  • Roles and Casting

    Students will audition for roles in the show during the first few weeks of rehearsals. Casting will be announced in October. Every student will play a featured role in the show! Students will be placed in a cast that best suits their age group and experience level.

  • Performances

    Our casts will hit the stage between late May-mid June! Each cast will put on two performances, including a day-time show for schools, and an evening/weekend show for family and friends. Exact performance dates will be confirmed after the holiday break in the new year.

AUDITION STRUCTURE

1. Information Presentation

Parents and students will listen to a brief presentation about Innovative Arts and our upcoming production. This is a great chance for you to ask questions and meet our team!

After the presentation, parents are welcome to wait in our reception area, or head out while we kick off our workshop with the auditionees!

2. Group Classes

Students will take part in a vocal class, during which they will learn the audition song. Next, they will head to dance class, where they will learn a fun piece of choreography!

Students are welcome to perform a vocal piece of their choice for the private audition, if preferred. If you would like to select your own audition material, we kindly ask you to prepare:

  • a 1-2 minute song that showcases your voice

  • a karaoke track on your electronic device

3. Private Audition

Students will perform their audition song privately. Be confident and have fun! We want to see what makes you unique!

All students will receive an email regarding their audition results within two weeks after the audition workshop. We will recommend one of our other awesome programs for those who we don’t think are ready for the musical production just yet!

Rehearsal SCHEDULE

Week 1-5 - Get to know the show! Script reads, workshops, and casting auditions!

Week 6-21 - Learn your songs, dances, and scenes in rotation style rehearsals!

Week 22-28 - Cast “run throughs,” fine tuning the show, and getting stage ready!
